Hedgehogs Classroom

Hedgehogs class is for children aged between 18 months and 2 and a half years.

The years that your child spends as a toddler are very important. We have a large and spacious room where our toddlers can play through a combination of adult led and child initiated activities.

Our classroom is created to give your toddler opportunities to explore and engage in daily messy activities, to use their imagination through role play and to have stories and rhyme time. We have a lovely cosy area for them to relax and the opportunity to nap in our sleep room.

The staff use 'Tapestry' an Online Learning Journal to record and track your child’s learning, This is completed by your child’s Keyworker who will carry out observations and take photos and videos of your child learning. This is also a good way for you to be kept informed about what your child has been doing at nursery as all parent's will be given an individual link to set up an account to view their child's journal online or via a phone app.

We have a great understanding that every toddler has lots of energy, therefore we encourage the children to go outside every day into their own playground where they can ride a bike, engage in sensory activities such as the mud kitchen or climbing. We also go for regular wellie walks to the Woodland and Forest School area where we can explore our superb outdoor surroundings.

Parents are given feedback each day about their children’s day and their sleeps, meal/snacks and nappy changes etc.
