Nursery Class For Toddlers

Squirrels Classroom

Squirrels class is for children aged between 2 years and 3 years.

The room is well laid out and resourced so that the children can play with a range of natural resources, small world and construction toys. All our toys are at the children’s level so they can self select and make their own choices. We also use this space to do music and movement, singing and story time as part of our whole class routine.  

We have an area for messy play and they have daily sensory and mark-making opportunities. There is another part of the room that is tiled to allow a range of daily painting, artwork, sensory and messy play to take place.

The staff use 'Tapestry' an Online Learning Journal to record and track your child’s learning, This is completed by your child’s Keyworker who will carry out observations and take photos and videos of your child learning. This is also a good way for you to be kept informed about what your child has been doing at nursery as all parent's will be given an individual link to set up an account to view their child's journal online or via a phone app.

Outside in the playground the children can ride bikes, get messy in the mud kitchen, explore the climbing wall and slide. We also go for regular wellie walks to the Woodland and Forest School areas where we can explore our superb outdoor surroundings.

A large white board within the room will display details of your child's day, including how much they have eaten, any nappy changes and whether or not they have slept.
